Postal News: USPS Rate Increase

Once again, the United States Postal Service has increased postal rates. Effective January 26, 2014 the new rates are intended as a “last resort” to generate $2 billion in incremental annual revenue for the struggling Postal Service. A +1.7% inflation-related price increase, plus a 4.3% exigent increase is an unwelcome 6% increase that businesses and consumers will need to absorb.

With this rate increase, the penalty for mishandling mail is greater than ever, making FORMost’s mail specialists more important than ever. We can help you to use mail more efficiently, increase the value of your mail piece, and ultimately offset the extra marketing dollars you are spending on postage. Call us at (301)424-4242 for a review of your company’s direct mail and postal practices. We’re here to help!
